In America, we have a set of ideas that help citizens make good decisions. These ideas are expressed in the Declaration of Independence and in the Bill of Rights.
We call them "Core Democratic Values" As citizens of a democracy, it is important that YOU learn about these ideas so you will understand why people make certain choices. Understanding your rights and liberties will help you make better decisions too. The following activity will tell you about 7 Core Democratic Values. Look at each of the four pictures. Read all the words. Ask questions of an adult if you do not understand something. Then, print out the fifth page and draw a picture showing how you would use the Core Democratic Value in your life. You can then assemble the pages into your very own Core Democratic Values Notebook! HAVE FUN! |
