opinions on themes project

I'm a student at WMU. I have to write an evaluation of the Themes project. I can see some good and some bad (why are there so many gram. and word errors in a document for teachers?) Anyway, I'm disappointed in the lack of "Implementation Techniques" and in the fact that I will have to think about teaching within this myopic framework.(what about major historical themes of land/resource-greed, marginalization of minorities, etc.) It may be good for me as a beginner that may not have fully developed my own thematic focus but will I be trapped here, frozen in a 6 themes and MEAP twilight zone? What is the practical reality of adopting the Themes. Is it very practical after all?
Thanks
